The aim of FOSS is to raise funds to help the school pay for items that they might not be able to afford otherwise and to do this by organising fun activities for the children and their families.
With some of the money recently raised FOSS have paid for £600 worth of new musical instruments to support the whole school’s music curriculum.
We have also helped the school update its video resources to DVD.
Last year, FOSS raised money towards a suite of software called Espresso and the updating of school PCs. We also funded a production of "Charlotte's Webb" by the M&M Theatre and provided additional funds to support arts and creativity.
In previous years, FOSS has bought a large projector for the school hall, and contributed to the pantomime and Year 6 leavers party. FOSS also provides sports day refreshments and Christmas gifts for the children. Mrs Lowes attends the FOSS meetings so that the needs of the school and FOSS activities can be coordinated.
The committee is made up solely of volunteers and new committee members are always welcome. Any ideas for fundraising are always gratefully received.
